Topics for Women’s Groups

Each topic carries the question, “What is in your cup?” This overall theme centers around becoming the beautiful godly woman one was created to be.

Glenda uses different and unique teacups to illustrate the teaching in I Corinthians 6:19 which describes women as vessels, housing the living God, to be filled and used by God. A different assortment of teacups helps to illustrate each unique temperament.

We are not to focus on our negative characteristics by sitting back and stating, “That’s the way I am, like it our leave it.” No, as a vessel of the Holy Spirit, women are to polish their strengths and chip away at their weaknesses. The challenge is that whatever one puts in her cup overflows to those around her.

Within the theme of “What is in your cup?” are many areas of exploration, such as a worthy walk, building friendships, influencing and leaving a legacy, transitions and changes, loving one’s husband, new beginnings, fear and anxiety, and being a gracious woman, seasonal topics and for the younger set: being gracious girls and teaching little china cups. There is always interwoven the opportunity to accept Christ as one’s Lord and Savior.

In each topic, she demonstrates through the use of her collection of teacups, four friends who are each different. As women begin to see themselves through these examples, she challenges them to be a vessel filled with peace and joy that can only come from a life surrendered to Christ as Lord and Savior. She teaches that character is the only thing one can change and control in the pilgrimage of becoming the woman God created each to be.
